These last six months have been great for us, as we launched our new site in March. In all modesty, we think it looks great. We’re also happy with the slightly longer reviews, giving us more space to tell you all what we think.

Musically as well, there’s no denying the first half of 2016 has been amazing, and amazingly versatile. No less than 48 records were awarded the BFF (Beardfood Favorite) badge. Let’s see if we can make it to 100 before the end of the year.

It’s been a tragic six months as well; the fact that Bowie tops our list, shows how much we miss our hero. ‘Blackstar’ turned out to be his swan song, both a touching farewell and a simply incredible record. After he died we created our own Tribute to David Bowie, for which we dived into his legendary back catalogue.

For this list, seven of our contributors have chosen their 10 favorite records. The resulting top 45 has been narrowed down to a bite-sized package like we always do. These are the records we think you should definitely check out if you haven’t already. So, here it is: The Definitive Beardfood Top 16 of 2016 So Far.
